We are actively seeking a System Integration Engineer to become part of our expanding team of engineering and ergonomics specialists. This role will be integral in facilitating the development, integration, deployment, and quality assurance of software and hardware systems. You will contribute by bridging the gaps between software and hardware systems and solve problems in a fast paced environment.

In your day to day activities, you’ll work with multiple customers, as a consultant and trusted partner in Sandalwood’s areas of expertise of Injury Prevention, Systems Engineering & Systems Integration. You’ll help customers innovate, solve their current struggles and guide them with the power of Sandalwood’s deeply ingrained subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate third-party APIs, internal modules, and legacy systems.
  • Develop middleware and adapters to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Conduct system compatibility and interoperability testing.
  • Maintain integration documentation and data mapping schemas.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues and provide long-term solutions.
  • Collect and analyze data.

Deliverables

  • Integration architecture diagrams.

  • System compatibility reports.
  • Integration test cases and results.

Tools/Technololgies

  • REST/SOAP APIs, GraphQL
  • Message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Postman, Swagger, MuleSoft
  • JSON, XML, YAML

Requirements

  • Proficiency of integrating computer programs.
  • Knowledge of close and color vision practices, and depth perception.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Understanding the latest software and hardware engineering principals and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks accordingly and in line with industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments
  • Knowledge of cloud-based platforms and edge computing
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
