New Seminar Format 2005 UDMA

Costume Preview & Studio Resource Shows

In order to provide more targeted, focused information for dance school owners and dance instructors at every level, the United Dance Merchants of America will offer separate “School Owner Only” and “Teacher and Classroom” Practical Dance Seminars at their annual shows nationwide.

                In New York/New Jersey, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Las Vegas, Rhee Gold and Project Motivate will be presenting two half-day seminars specifically directed toward the individual concerns of dance teacher and school owners. In most cities, a “School Owners Only” seminar will be presented on Saturday afternoon (Sunday in NY/NJ only), and the “Teacher and Classroom” session will be held on Sunday morning (Saturday in NY/NJ only). Show attendees may choose to attend either or both of these sessions, which will combine unparalleled networking and information-sharing opportunities with the insights and motivation that only Rhee Gold, publisher of the Goldrush magazine and founder of the Project Motivate seminars for teachers, can uniquely provide.

                Continuing the momentum started at the 2004 shows, the New York/New Jersey Show will once again feature the “Fashion Dinner,” a buffet dinner and runway fashion show of the newest costume companies’ offerings. This year’s theme, “You’re a Star!”, will provide teachers the ability to get the first look of the season at a sampling of the 2006 costumes, live and in performance.

                Started in 1994, dance teachers and school owners have come to depend on the UDMA Costume Preview Shows as a comprehensive one-stop shopping opportunity for all of their studio needs. Teachers can feel the fabrics of the costumes, see the real colors, and talk to company representatives in person and in depth. In addition to costumes, with an average of more than 40 exhibiting companies per city, teachers can find music, shoes, flooring, competitions, and so much more. Although there is a modest fee for participation in the optional seminars and NY/NJ Fashion Dinner, the all-day exhibit hall portion of the Costume Preview Show weekends is FREE to dance teachers, school owners, and dance coaches.
